Haiti Earthquake Appeal

January 25, 2010

I’m sure we’ve all been shocked by the earthquake in Haiti. As soon as I heard the news, I knew it was going to be a disaster on an enormous scale. I spent a number of months on Haiti a few years ago, and while the people are wonderful, the infrastructure is terrible. It was no surprise that so many buildings collapsed.

I was in Haiti as part of a project to document the lives of children who live in slavery. A local film-maker made a short film about my experience, which you can watch below. I’m especially concerned about the fate of these children, who were often abandoned and abused, even before the earthquake.

If you’d like to make a donation to the victims of the earthquake, you can do so at HERE.
